Cloud9 are in negotiations to field fnatic benched player Robin "flusha" Rönnquist as a stand-in at BLAST Pro Series Istanbul, HLTV.org and VPEsports have learned.
flusha, who was benched by fnatic earlier in the week following the team's disappointing run at the FACEIT Major, has been practising with Cloud9 in recent days as a replacement for Martin "STYKO" Styk.
The Slovakian player has been on loan with Cloud9 from MOUZ since the beginning of July, attending three events with the team, ESL One Cologne, ELEAGUE Premier and the Major.
He was due to stay with the North American side until the end of September and attend BLAST Pro Series Istanbul as well, but was informed after Major that he would most likely sit out the Turkish event.
If the move comes to fruition, flusha will reunite with compatriot Maikil "Golden" Selim, alongside whom he won IEM Katowice and WESG earlier in the year when the pair still represented fnatic.
It is unclear at this point whether Cloud9 will be testing flusha in Istanbul with a view to signing the player on a permanent basis should he impress.
Cloud9 are due to face MIBR in their first match at the Turkish event, which will kick off on September 28. After BLAST, the team will return to action in the ESL Pro League, with their opening match scheduled for October 3, against eUnited.
This would leave Cloud9 with the following roster for BLAST Pro Series Istanbul:
Timothy "autimatic" Ta
William "RUSH" Wierzba
Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham
Maikil "Golden" Selim
Robin "flusha" Rönnquist (stand-in)
